I Can Be Kind To Animals

Today was our last day with our 5 year old primary class we've been teaching. Our lesson was a random one, "I Can Be Kind To Animals".

As we gave our lesson we talked about Noah and the Ark and played animal games like memory with animal pictures and "guess that animal". It's always nice to have treats during lessons, especially when you want the kids to listen to you. So, I told the kids to remember that our lesson was about being kind to animals as I passed out animal cookies for the children.

Clark (the only boy in our class) lit up and said, "Yeah, and we are eating animals!"

OH NO!

He continued, "Yeah, and here at the Mormon Center [where we attend church], we always see turkeys and guess what? On Thanksgiving we ate ALL of them!"

So there you have it, I'm pretty sure my primary kids learned nothing about being kind to animals, only that we eat animals!

That's an excellent lesson. Who knows though maybe your class will never want to eat turkey again! It could happen. LOL
